To me, being extraordinary is really about being the best version of yourself, each and every day. Knowing what your unique gifts are, and sharing them with the world. Pushing yourself and boldly going in the direction of your dreams, whatever they may be. Doing what is required. Defying those who may doubt you or keep you playing small. You are exactly who you believe yourself to be.
"The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problems."- Gandhi
Life gives us challenges and opportunities all the time, and it's in how you respond - particularly when it's scary, uncomfortable and inconvenient - that determines your quality of life and shows your true character. It's easy to be happy and shine in the world when everything is going great, but who are you when the going gets tough?
I believe that the underdogs we admire are the individuals who demonstrate commitment, passion, and iron-willed determination, even in the face of overwhelming odds. There is a fire in their eyes and a burning desire in their heart that won't let them quit, even if they have failed 100 times before. Being extraordinary is about finding that will to get back up and keep 'swinging for the fences'.
That inner 'spark' is within all of us. Just let it burn!
